Lillard addresses George Floyd's death, BLM protests on new track
Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard, aka Dame D.O.L.L.A., shared his thoughts on the death of George Floyd and the resulting protests on a new track called "Blacklist."
Lillard teamed up with fellow Oakland musical artist Kev Choice on the track, which he released Tuesday on SoundCloud.
"As a rich black man living in this country, it's hard being comfy," Lillard raps. "When the hate yo people get is coming from the ones amongst me."
Elsewhere on the track, Lillard takes aim at President Donald Trump over one of his recent tweets, saying "How the president get on TV and be mad casual, like, 'If you lootin', we shootin'' like it's a game?"
Lillard was among those who participated in the Black Lives Matter protests in Portland last week.
