Dallas Mavericks guard Courtney Lee underwent surgery to repair a calf injury suffered sometime after the 2019-20 season was put on hold in mid-March, the team announced on Monday.

The 34-year-old currently has no timetable for a return in place.

To help fill the void Lee's absence has created, Dallas intends to upgrade its roster once the NBA's one-week transaction window opens on June 23 at 12 p.m. ET. To sign a new player, the Mavericks would need to waive Lee, The New York Times' Marc Stein adds.

The Mavericks' roster is currently at the league maximum of 15 players. The team has also already signed two players to two-way deals.

Lee has averaged 4.5 points while shooting 44.7% from 3-point range in 24 appearances while coming off the bench for Dallas this season.
