Spurs sign Tyler Zeller for rest of season
The San Antonio Spurs signed free-agent center Tyler Zeller for the remainder of the 2019-20 season, the team announced.
Zeller was last with the Denver Nuggets during the preseason but was waived days before the start of the current campaign.
San Antonio is one of the 22 teams that will take part in the season restart in Orlando in July. The club sits four games back of the Memphis Grizzlies for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. The Spurs will not have star forward LaMarcus Aldridge with them, however, as the 34-year-old was recently ruled out for the rest of the year after undergoing shoulder surgery in April.
Zeller played a total of six games last season - two with the Atlanta Hawks and four with the Memphis Grizzlies. He averaged 11.5 points and 4.5 rebounds on 20.5 minutes per contest in Memphis. He's also suited up for the Milwaukee Bucks, Brooklyn Nets, Boston Celtics, and Cleveland Cavaliers.
