No player will be able to make a late push for the MVP Award in the bubble.
The NBA won't take the remaining eight seeding games in Orlando into consideration for its end-of-season awards, reports Tim Reynolds of The Associated Press. Only games played through March 11, when the season was suspended, will reportedly be taken into account.
"The decision to exclude seeding games from awards voting ensures a fair process in which players and coaches from all 30 teams will have the same opportunity to be honored as top performers for the regular season," the league told teams in a memo that Reynolds obtained.
The league will, however, include the bubble portion of the season when determining stat leaders, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Voting for the 2020 awards is reportedly expected to wrap up before the season officially resumes on July 30.
The league traditionally announces its MVP, Rookie of the Year, Coach of the Year, Most Improved Player, and other individual honors weeks after the end of The Finals. Postseason performances aren't considered in the voting process.
