The NBA is investigating Los Angeles Clippers guard Lou Williams' whereabouts during his excused absence from the league's bubble to determine an appropriate length for his quarantine period, ESPN's Ramona Shelburne and Bobby Marks report.

Williams was photographed Thursday at a "gentleman's club" with rapper Jack Harlow, who quickly deleted the image from his Instagram story and said in a since-deleted tweet that it was an old picture.

However, Williams told NBA security upon returning to the bubble that he visited the club for a short period, Shelburne adds.

"Obviously, those got out and that's something we obviously didn't enjoy seeing or like," Clippers head coach Doc Rivers said about the photo circulating on social media, according to the Los Angeles Times' Brad Turner.

Williams was permitted to exit the bubble for personal reasons. The 33-year-old posted an image Friday to his Instagram story of Paul G. Williams, who died July 16.

Players who re-enter the bubble must quarantine for a minimum of four days, but the NBA is allowed to extend that period up to 10 days based on recommendations from the league's outside infectious disease specialists, ESPN's Zach Lowe reports.

Williams will miss two seeding games and forego up to $150,000 in salary if he quarantines for 10 days, according to Marks.
