LeBron will remain on social media during Lakers' playoff run

After four seasons of eschewing social media during the playoffs, LeBron James plans to remain active throughout the Los Angeles Lakers' postseason run to stay informed of what's transpiring at home and around the world.
"It's definitely going to have a different mindset, different feel to it. I won't be turning my phone off during this run. I can't afford to," James said when discussing the Lakers' upcoming championship push, according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin.
"I have to continue to check in with my family every single day. ... So I can't afford to do that, just lose direct contact with everybody," he added.
In addition to maintaining contact with family, James' decision will allow him to continue advocating for social justice causes alongside fellow NBA players.
The 35-year-old insists he'll remain "locked-in" during the playoffs regardless of his social media activity.
James is averaging 25.7 points, a career-high 10.6 assists, and 7.9 rebounds for the Western Conference-leading Lakers in what's been an MVP-caliber campaign for the forward.
