Los Angeles Clippers forward Paul George produced an underwhelming outing during his team's 135-133 overtime loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday, finishing with just nine points on 3-of-14 shooting.
George has now shot 10-of-47 from the field since the start of Game 2 while connecting on just four of his 25 long-range attempts. He's averaged a meager 11.3 points per game during that span.
With the first-round series now knotted at two games apiece, the Clippers' swingman said his offensive slump has been a significant factor.
"To be honest, in hindsight, if I shoot the ball better, this series would be a lot different," George said postgame, according to The Athletic's Jovan Buha.
The six-time All-Star - who was also criticized following his Game 3 performance - says his offensive woes don't stem from a lack of confidence.
"The shots I'm taking I'm expecting to make. It just is what it is: I'm just missing shots," George said, according to ClutchPoints' Tomer Azarly. "I don't think it's from a confidence standpoint. Once I see it go through and I find that rhythm, I'll be right where I want to be."
George will look to get back on track during a pivotal Game 5 on Tuesday.
