Raptors' Nurse: 'I wouldn't have probably brought my family' to bubble
Toronto Raptors bench boss Nick Nurse insists he hasn't been negatively impacted by the NBA's decision to prohibit head coaches from bringing family into the Orlando bubble.
"Myself personally, it's not that upsetting to me. I wouldn't have probably brought my family," Nurse said Saturday prior to Game 4 of the Raptors' second-round series against the Boston Celtics. "Even though it looks like a really good setup for the families and kids as I roam around a little bit and actually talk to some of them and they say they're having a good week, I didn't really feel it would be a great place to bring my family or kids."
The league's policy recently drew criticism from Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone, who labeled it shameful. The league released a statement shortly after in response, acknowledging the challenges of not having family members inside the bubble while also stating it hopes to ease restrictions ahead of the conference finals.
Nurse's Raptors currently trail the Celtics 2-1 in their best-of-seven matchup.
