The Los Angeles Clippers have interviewed Sam Cassell for the team's vacant head coaching position, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Cassell has been a Clippers assistant for the past six seasons under former head coach Doc Rivers, who was dismissed last month. He had previously spent five years on the Washington Wizards' coaching staff.
The 50-year-old has also reportedly been targetted for the Houston Rockets' head coaching vacancy following the departure of Mike D'Antoni. Cassell is reportedly interested in that position.
He played 15 NBA seasons with eight franchises before joining the coaching ranks. Cassell won back-to-back titles (1994 and 1995) with the Rockets, then captured another championship with the Boston Celtics in 2008.
