Report: Bulls won't extend offer to Dunn, Clippers expected to be interested
The Chicago Bulls will not extend a qualifying offer to point guard Kris Dunn, sources told K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago.
Without a qualifying offer, Dunn will become a free agent for the first time.
The Los Angeles Clippers are one of the multiple teams expected to be interested in signing the ball-handler, Johnson reports. The Clippers are potentially in the market for a new point guard and will also reportedly pursue Los Angeles Lakers veteran Rajon Rondo if he doesn't exercise his player option for next season.
The Minnesota Timberwolves drafted Dunn fifth overall in 2016 but then traded him to the Bulls after one season. Though his third year in Chicago was cut short due to a sprained MCL, Dunn's two steals per game ranked second in the NBA as he established himself as an esteemed defender. The 26-year-old also averaged 7.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists in 24.9 minutes per contest.
