Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson appeared to suffer a lower leg injury on Wednesday and will undergo testing to determine the severity, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

The fear is Thompson suffered a significant Achilles injury, sources told Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes.

Thompson was competing against current and former NBA players at a Los Angeles gym when the injury occurred, sources told Marc Spears of The Undefeated. He reportedly needed assistance walking out of the gym.

The 30-year-old hasn't appeared in a game since tearing his left ACL during Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals. He was sidelined for the entirety of the 2019-20 season.

However, this latest ailment concerns his right leg, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

Through eight campaigns, Thompson has averaged 19.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game to go along with 41.9% shooting from beyond the arc. The five-time All-Star played a central role in the Warriors' championship runs in 2015, 2017, and 2018.
