LaVar says 'why not?' to 1-on-1 pay-per-view with MJ
LaVar Ball, who boldly claimed he "would kill Michael Jordan one-on-one" in his heyday, is open to the idea of facing the NBA legend on the court.
In a story about LaMelo Ball's draft night experience Wednesday, ESPN's Tim Keown shared that LaVar expressed interest in a one-on-one against Jordan, but said they would first have to discuss business details such as pay-per-view and guaranteed money.
"Hey, if people are willing to pay to see 50-year-old Mike Tyson fight, why not?" LaVar said.
LaVar also told Keown he likes the idea of Jordan guiding LaMelo, who was drafted No. 3 overall by the Charlotte Hornets.
"Greatness recognizes greatness," LaVar said. "I always told my boys, 'Someone has to be better than the best - why not you?'"
It remains to be seen whether Jordan has any interest in a one-on-one with LaVar, but he did tell one of his Flight School camps in 2017 that he would still win even if he was one-legged.
