Despite a rocky ending to his first season with the club, Paul George says he's loyal to the Los Angeles Clippers.
"I want to retire a Clipper," George said Friday in his first media session of the season, according to Marc Stein of the New York Times.
George joined the Clippers last summer via trade from the Oklahoma City Thunder to team up with Kawhi Leonard. George had a strong regular season, but he faced plenty of criticism after a roller-coaster postseason in which he struggled to produce and the club blew a 3-1 second-round series lead to the Denver Nuggets.
The 30-year-old's current contract expires after the 2021-22 season. The six-time All-Star is owed just over $35 million for the upcoming campaign, according to Spotrac.
The Clippers are scheduled to start their season Dec. 22 versus the Lakers.
