Silas coy on Harden's commitment to Rockets: 'You're going to have to ask him'
James Harden may not be on the same page as the new-look Houston Rockets.
Harden did not practice with the team Sunday due to COVID-19 protocols, head coach Stephen Silas told reporters, including ESPN's Tim MacMahon.
With Harden expected to arrive later in the day for an individual workout, Silas was asked about the superstar's commitment to Houston following reports of a trade request and Wednesday's blockbuster deal that sent Russell Westbrook to the Washington Wizards in exchange for John Wall.
"That's a question you're going to have to ask him when he gets here," Silas said.
"I'm not exactly sure what hoops he has to jump through in order to practice with the team," the rookie NBA coach added.
Harden, 31, wasn't with the Rockets late last week and was spotted at a large birthday gathering for rapper Lil Baby in Atlanta.
It was reported in November that the three-time NBA scoring champion was open to a trade to the Brooklyn Nets or Philadelphia 76ers.
Wall, meanwhile, said Sunday that he believes Harden plans to play the full season in Houston.
"We've been on the same page since I've been traded here," Wall said.
