1 of 549 players positive for COVID-19 in latest round of NBA testing
One of 549 players tested positive for the coronavirus in the NBA's latest round of testing since Dec. 10, the league announced on Wednesday.
The league did not reveal the one player, though Noah Vonleh recently revealed he had tested positive for COVID-19. He was subsequently waived by the Chicago Bulls earlier this week following his announcement.
"Anyone who has returned a confirmed positive test is isolated until they are cleared for leaving isolation under the rules established by the NBA and the Players Association in accordance with CDC guidance," the league's statement reads.
A total of 57 players tested positive in the league's first three rounds of testing dating back to Nov. 24.
The positivity rate among players continues to rapidly decline. After 8.8% of players tested positive for COVID-19 in Round 1 of testing, Round 2 results yielded a 1.45% positivity rate. This latest round of testing revealed a rate of only 0.18%.
