Dinwiddie suffers partially torn ACL
Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie suffered a partially torn ACL in his right knee, the team announced Monday.
Dinwiddie is expected to make a full recovery before next season, The Athletic's Shams Charania reports. He's set to undergo surgery next week.
The 27-year-old suffered the injury when he landed awkwardly during the third quarter against the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday.
Dinwiddie enjoyed a breakout 2019-20 season for the Nets, who were shorthanded without Kyrie Irving for most of the year and Kevin Durant for the entire campaign. Dinwiddie averaged a career-high 20.6 points and 6.8 assists per game in 64 appearances (49 starts).
His contract contains a $12.3-million player option for next season, which means he could become one of the top free agents available this coming summer.
