Turner considered day-to-day with hand fracture

Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner suffered an avulsion fracture in his right hand and is considered day-to-day, the team announced.

Turner missed his first game of the season Sunday against the Los Angeles Clippers due to soreness in his right hand. It's unclear how long of an absence the big man is facing, although he won't require surgery.

The 24-year-old has been a defensive juggernaut for Indiana this season, leading the league with 4.2 blocks per game. He's also contributed 12.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per contest while shooting 47% from the field and 28.3% from 3-point range.

Star power forward Domantas Sabonis will likely slide up to the five spot for the foreseeable future with Turner out, while Doug McDermott could benefit from a spike in playing time. McDermott started for the Pacers on Sunday and finished with 23 points in 32 minutes.

Indiana currently sits fourth in the Eastern Conference with an 8-5 record.
