Report: NBA discussing potential All-Star Game for March in Atlanta
A 2021 NBA All-Star Game remains a possibility.
The league and players' union are still discussing potentially holding the traditional midseason exhibition in March, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Both sides are also reportedly considering selecting Atlanta as the host city, with support for historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and COVID-19 relief among the event's potential causes.
The proposals also include possibly hosting the game itself on an HBCU campus in the Atlanta area on March 6 or 7, sources told The New York Times' Marc Stein.
Indianapolis was the 2021 All-Star Game's original intended host, but the league officially shelved those plans in November to push hosting duties for Indiana's capital city to 2024 instead.
The NBA is still planning an "All-Star break" from March 5-10, and the second half of the regular season is set to begin March 11.
The Association still intends to carry out its yearly All-Star voting whether or not a game is held, Stein adds.
Atlanta has hosted the All-Star Game twice, with the most recent edition coming in 2003.
