The Minnesota Timberwolves waived first-year guard Ashton Hagans, the team announced Saturday.
Hagans was on a two-way contract after going undrafted out of Kentucky in November.
On Wednesday, Hagans was one of five players from Minnesota's affiliate, the Iowa Wolves, who were suspended without pay for two games after breaking the league's health and safety protocols. Of the group, Hagans was the lone player directly under contract with the Timberwolves.
The two-time SEC All-Defensive Team selection played just four total minutes across two appearances with the Timberwolves. He was assigned to the Wolves ahead of the team's appearance in Atlanta's G League bubble.
