Report: Multiple teams expected to be interested in Powell before trade deadline
Norman Powell is expected to receive interest from multiple teams ahead of the NBA's March 25 trade deadline, The Athletic's Shams Charania reports.
Powell is enjoying a tremendous season for the Toronto Raptors, averaging a career-high 19.6 points and career-best 44.4% efficiency from 3-point range through 40 games. He's been particularly dominant in March, pouring in 27.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in eight games this month.
The forward is earning $10.8 million this season and has a $11.6-million player option for the 2021-22 campaign.
In addition to Powell, Kyle Lowry continues to draw trade interest from multiple suitors leading up to March 25, most notably the Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat.
Toronto is currently 11th in the Eastern Conference with a 17-25 record and in the midst of an eight-game losing streak.
