NBA Wednesday player props: Buy low on Caris LeVert, Nerlens Noel
Tuesday was our first real dud in a long time, as props went 1-4. There are 10 games on tap for Wednesday's slate, so let's get back to the drawing board and hammer out a handful of winners.
Here's what we're rolling with.
Caris LeVert over 2.5 made threes
LeVert's reached double figures in four of his last five games for the Pacers, primarily on volume alone. Don't let the stats fool you; he's struggling to make buckets right now.
After going 4-of-14 from the field with 10 points against the Mavericks, LeVert registered eight on 3-of-14 shooting against the Wizards in his last outing, including 0-of-3 from the perimeter. However, this is an optimal buy-low window against the Heat, who allow the second-most 3-point makes per game in the league to shooting guards (3.95).
Nerlens Noel over 7.5 points
Noel is only averaging 5.1 points per game for the Knicks this season, but you won't find a better spot to go over his total than Wednesday against the Timberwolves. Minnesota's had issues in the frontcourt all season, allowing the most points per contest (25.67) and highest shooting percentage (57.38) in the league to centers. Although it might be a slow crawl to the finish line, this is a solid look on a player who's seen at least 30 minutes of action in three of his last four games.
Marcus Smart under 4.5 assists
We'll go under Smart's assist total when the Celtics take on the Mavericks. Boston's middle-of-the-pack offense has been dreadful at producing points off assists, as its 0.551 dimes per made field goal is the third-worst clip in the league.
Meanwhile, Dallas has quietly climbed to No. 12 in scoring defense and is giving up just 0.566 assists per made field goal, which is tied for the fourth-best mark. Furthermore, the Mavericks surrender the fifth-fewest dimes per game to shooting guards (4.17), making Smart an easy fade.
Joe Ingles over 4.5 rebounds
Ingles gets the nod in the Jazz's starting lineup in favor of Donovan Mitchell, who's out for personal reasons. The obvious play would be Ingles over his 3-point makes - he's at 49.2% from deep this season and has connected on 54.2% of his attempts across his last 15 games - but I'll go a different route and take the over on his rebound total.
The Grizzlies allow the third-most boards per game to shooting guards (7.19), and Ingles has smashed this total in six of his last eight contests.
Mikal Bridges under 1.5 made threes
Bridges is enjoying a breakout year. He's up to career highs in virtually every category, including 3-point percentage (41.8%). But he's been quiet in this department lately, drilling just three of his last 13 attempts. He hasn't drained multiple 3-pointers in the Suns' last four games.
Things probably won't get much easier against the Bulls, who are tied for fourth in 3-point percentage allowed (34.9%) and give up the third-fewest makes per game to small forwards (2.20).
