NBA Thursday player props: CJ McCollum to the rescue

Kristaps Porzingis' assist total was the lone winner on an otherwise spotty Wednesday card.

Here are the props we're rolling with Thursday as we look to salvage the week.

CJ McCollum over 2.5 made threes

Who's going to pick up the slack for Damian Lillard, who single-handedly kept the Trail Blazers afloat in Game 5?

Our money's on McCollum.

After averaging 23.1 points per game during the regular season, the shooting guard has been held under that clip in all five playoff contests against the Nuggets. He's attempted at least 19 shots from the floor in four of five, however, and is riding a dreadful 7-of-24 (29.2%) skid from beyond the arc.

McCollum shot better than 40% from the perimeter during the regular season and has seen at least 38 minutes in three of the last four. He's due to come around and should have more urgency after Portland's supporting cast left Lillard hanging Tuesday.

Michael Porter Jr. under 7.5 rebounds

This number should be 6.5, at most.

Porter picked up 12 boards in Denver's double-overtime win Tuesday, but he needed close to 48 minutes of action to do so. Before that, he'd collected seven rebounds or fewer in a whopping 11 straight.

Dennis Schroder under 3.5 assists

Schroder's gone missing in this series as the Lakers hunt for some sort of offense sans Anthony Davis.

The 27-year-old has been a nonfactor on the score sheet, totaling eight points on a combined 3-of-22 (13.6%) shooting mark from the field across the last two contests. He hasn't created many buckets, either, averaging just 3.0 assists throughout the series - 2.8 fewer per game than he posted during the regular season.

Schroder's had trouble cracking the Suns' defense, notching three assists or fewer in five of the last six meetings. Overall, Phoenix was No. 3 in the NBA in assists per field made goal allowed this season (0.567).

Jae Crowder over 1.5 assists

We recommended Crowder over 1.5 assists in Game 3, and he tallied two. Following a four-assist effort in Game 4 and another pair of dimes Tuesday, the veteran forward has registered multiple assists in 18 of his last 21 outings dating back to the regular season.
