The Denver Nuggets intend to sign Austin Rivers for the remainder of the 2020-21 season, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Rivers has helped fill Denver's backcourt void following injuries to Jamal Murray and Will Barton. Murray is out for the season after tearing his ACL, while Barton has missed the last three games with a hamstring strain.
Rivers is averaging 24.2 minutes over five games since signing a 10-day contract with the Nuggets. The former lottery pick has struggled with his shooting stroke with Denver, connecting on just 16.7% of his long-range attempts while averaging 5.2 points per contest.
Despite being hampered by injuries, the Nuggets still sit fourth in the Western Conference with a 41-21 record.
