Trae Young clears protocols, returns in loss to Bulls

Trae Young returned to the Atlanta Hawks' lineup in a 130-118 loss to the Chicago Bulls on Monday after clearing the NBA's health and safety protocols.

Young is enjoying another strong season for Atlanta. He finished Monday's loss with 29 points and nine assists and entered the contest averaging 27.3 points, 9.3 assists, and one steal in 34.1 minutes per game.

The Hawks went 1-2 in three games without their star floor general available.

After making the conference finals last season, the Hawks are off to a slower start in 2021-22. They're currently 15-18 and tied for 12th in the Eastern Conference standings.

DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, and Nikola Vucevic led Chicago in Monday's win, combining for 89 points and 25 assists.
