The Brooklyn Nets and Paul Millsap agreed to work toward finding a new team for the veteran forward, The Athletic's Shams Charania reports.

Millsap is seeking to join a team that can offer him a larger role. The 36-year-old has only played in two of Brooklyn's last 17 games and is averaging a career-low 3.4 points in 24 appearances.

The four-time All-Star signed a one-year, $2.6-million contract with the Nets in the offseason. He was also courted by the Chicago Bulls and Golden State Warriors in free agency before settling on Brooklyn, Charania adds.

Millsap was initially expected to receive meaningful minutes in the Nets' frontcourt rotation. However, the unexpected NBA comeback of fellow power forward LaMarcus Aldridge has contributed to Millsap's decreased playing time.

Brooklyn is currently the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference with a 28-16 record.
