Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards is noticing a trend after he was bypassed for this year's All-Star Game.

"It's the same as the Rookie of the Year, man. I don't never expect to be selected, because it never happens," Edwards told Bring Me The News' Dane Moore. "I was surprised I was selected for the Rising Stars game, if I'm being honest."

The first overall pick in 2020 finished second in last year's Rookie of the Year voting to Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball despite averaging almost four more points per game.

Edwards has put together an even better sophomore campaign, scoring 22.3 points per game along with 5.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists. He's been a key cog on a surprising 27-25 Timberwolves squad.

With his impressive season, Ant-Man believes he deserved more respect from All-Star voters. He did get love from Rising Stars coach Isiah Thomas, who selected him first overall in the event's draft.

There's still a chance the 20-year-old gets into the game as an injury replacement.
