Report: Rockets trade Theis to Celtics for Schroder
The Houston Rockets are trading center Daniel Theis to the Boston Celtics in exchange for guard Dennis Schroder, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Celtics will also reportedly ship Enes Kanter Freedom and Bruno Fernando to Houston.
The Rockets will waive Freedom, Wojnarowski adds.
The reported move returns Theis to Boston, where he spent the first three-and-a-half seasons of his NBA career after multiple years in his native Germany. The undersized center averaged 8.4 points and five rebounds in 26 appearances for Houston this season, making 21 starts.
Schroder averaged 14.4 points, 4.2 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game for the Celtics this campaign after signing a one-year deal reportedly worth the $5.9-million taxpayer mid-level exception.
