Report: Simmons to ramp up conditioning as Nets debut nears
The Brooklyn Nets are on their way to welcoming star acquisition Ben Simmons to the court.
Simmons will ramp up his conditioning as he gets closer to making his Nets debut, and his timeline is "weeks rather than months," ESPN's Ramona Shelburne reported on "NBA Today" on Monday.
It's been over eight months since Simmons last suited up in the Philadelphia 76ers' Game 7 loss to the Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
Simmons reportedly informed the 76ers in October that he didn't feel mentally ready to play after holding out from the team at the start of training camp. He was traded to Brooklyn on deadline day.
Getting the point guard integrated into the rotation would be a major boost for the Nets, who have lost 12 of their last 14 games and sit eighth in the East at 31-28.
