The Houston Rockets will guarantee the 2022-23 salaries of shooting guard Garrison Mathews and small forward KJ Martin, sources told ESPN Tim MacMahon.

Mathews will make $2 million next campaign, while Martin will collect $1.8 million, per Spotrac. Future seasons of both players' team-friendly contracts are either non-guaranteed or club options.

Mathews, 25, has started 21 of his 49 appearances this season. In just over 27 minutes per game, the undrafted sharpshooter out of Lipscomb is averaging 11 points on an effective field goal rate of 56.1%.

Martin, the 21-year-old son of former All-Star Kenyon Martin, is averaging 8.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 20.6 minutes per game this campaign, making all but one of his 63 appearances off the bench. The Sacramento Kings selected Martin 52nd overall in the 2020 draft after he spent a postgraduate year at IMG Academy.
