LeBron appears to troll fans with April Fools' Day post: 'See y'all in the fall'
LeBron James was seemingly in the April Fools' Day spirit Friday, declaring that he's been shut down for the remainder of the 2021-22 season:
I’m out for the season officially. 🤦🏾♂️. See y’all in the fall. 👑✌🏾
— LeBron James (@KingJames) April 1, 2022
The 37-year-old hasn't confirmed whether the post is a prank, but perhaps there's a grain of truth in the joke.
James actually is dealing with injuries right now. The NBA's leading scorer has missed the Lakers' past two games - both losses - while fighting through a left ankle sprain he suffered on March 27 against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Also, at just 31-45 and losing the head-to-head tiebreaker with the 10th-place San Antonio Spurs, the Los Angeles Lakers are currently sitting outside the play-in picture with just six games left in the regular season.
The Lakers have until their regular-season finale - April 10 at the Denver Nuggets - to ensure that James really isn't out of action until autumn.
