Report: Kings to interview Jackson, D'Antoni for coaching job
The Sacramento Kings have started their extensive search for a new head coach.
Former Golden State Warriors bench boss Mark Jackson and veteran head coach Mike D'Antoni are two of the many candidates set to interview for the position, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania and Sam Amick.
Sacramento also received permission to interview Golden State assistant Mike Brown, Brooklyn Nets consultant Steve Clifford, Boston Celtics assistant Will Hardy, and Milwaukee Bucks assistants Darvin Ham and Charles Lee, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Kings parted ways with interim head coach Alvin Gentry following the conclusion of the regular season. Gentry was filling in for Luke Walton, who was fired after a 6-11 start.
Sacramento hasn't qualified for the playoffs in 16 straight seasons, dating back to 2006.
