Melo doesn't share LeBron's goal of playing with son in NBA

Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James have differing opinions when it comes to the prospect of sharing an NBA court with their sons.

Anthony, who attended Monday's Summer League game between the Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs with his son Kiyan, said he doesn't share his longtime friend's goal of playing alongside his son one day.

"I think it'll be time to pass him the torch," Anthony told ESPN's Cassidy Hubbarth. "So I'd rather just pass him the torch when that time comes."

James has repeatedly expressed his desire to play with his 17-year-old son Bronny, who could be eligible to enter the NBA draft as early as 2024. Anthony would have to wait longer for that opportunity, as his son is 15 years old.

The 38-year-old Anthony is an unrestricted free agent after spending last season with the Los Angeles Lakers.
