T-Wolves 'disappointed' in Edwards for anti-gay remarks in video
Minnesota Timberwolves president Tim Connelly expressed disappointment in Anthony Edwards after Edwards made anti-gay remarks in a video the franchise star posted on social media this past weekend.
"We are disappointed in the language and actions Anthony Edwards displayed on social media," Connelly said in a statement Monday. "The Timberwolves are committed to being an inclusive and welcoming organization for all and apologize for the offense this has caused to so many."
In the video, Edwards recorded a group of people from inside a car and describes them off-camera using anti-gay language. The video was posted to the 21-year-old's Instagram story and has since been taken down.
Edwards issued his own apology on Sunday.
What I said was immature, hurtful, and disrespectful, and I’m incredibly sorry. It’s unacceptable for me or anyone to use that language in such a hurtful way, there’s no excuse for it, at all. I was raised better than that!

The league is currently reviewing the incident, an NBA spokesperson said, according to ESPN's Tim Bontemps.
Edwards is entering his third NBA season. He was selected first overall by the Timberwolves in 2020.
