The Denver Nuggets are finalizing a deal to hire former point guard Andre Miller as the new coach of their G League affiliate, the Grand Rapids Gold, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Miller played 17 NBA seasons, including six with the Nuggets from 2003-2006 and from 2011-2014. He's fourth in Nuggets history in assists with 2,978 in 447 career games with Denver.
The Utah product ranks 12th overall in career assists with 8,524. Miller also led the league in assists per game in the 2001-2002 season with 10.9.
During his career, Miller averaged 12.5 points, 6.5 assists, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.2 steals.
Miller will replace fellow ex-point guard Jason Terry, who accepted an assistant coaching job with the Utah Jazz.
