Cleveland Cavaliers center Evan Mobley will miss one-to-two weeks due to a right ankle sprain, the team announced Monday.
Mobley won't appear in the team's preseason contest against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday, and he will likely miss next week's preseason games against the Sixers, Atlanta Hawks, and Orlando Magic.
The third overall pick from the 2021 draft averaged 15.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.7 blocks in 69 games last season. Mobley finished second in Rookie of the Year voting to Toronto Raptors forward Scottie Barnes.
The Cavaliers and Raptors will open both of their seasons Oct. 19 at Scotiabank Arena.
