Report: Pistons assistant GM on leave amid workplace misconduct investigation

Rob Murphy, the assistant general manager of the Detroit Pistons, is on leave from the franchise after it opened an investigation into alleged workplace misconduct, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The allegation involves a female former employee, who was let go from the organization earlier this year, sources told Yahoo Sports' Vincent Goodwill. Murphy has reportedly been on leave for over a week, as of Thursday.

The inquiry is expected to wrap up by early next week, sources told Goodwill.

The Detroit native has been the Pistons' assistant GM since June, when he was promoted from his role as senior director of player personnel, which he held since September 2021. Before then, he served as the president and general manager of their G League affiliate, the Motor City Cruise, beginning in March 2021.

Prior to his time with the Pistons, Murphy was the head coach at Eastern Michigan for 10 seasons.
