Casspi will not be extended a qualifying offer by the Cavs and will be an unrestricted free agent, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Casspi was touted as a shooter when he was drafted by the Kings in the first round of the 2009 NBA Draft, but since being traded to the Cavs during the 2011 offseason, his shot has smelled as though it was thoroughly dipped in the Bog of Eternal Stench. He's shot 32 percent from three-point land the last two seasons, but he shot 37 percent from beyond the arc in his first two seasons and 45 percent from the field as a rookie, showing that he has the potential to be a solid NBA shooter but hasn't capitalized on his potential consistently.
