Lillard out at least 1-2 weeks with calf strain
Portland Trail Blazers star guard Damian Lillard will be re-evaluated in one-to-two weeks after sustaining a Grade 1 calf strain, the team announced.
Lillard picked up the injury during Wednesday's loss against the Miami Heat in Portland. The 32-year-old appeared in discomfort at multiple points in the third quarter, grimacing in pain before leaving the contest for good later in the frame.
After the loss, Portland's first of the campaign, Lillard downplayed the injury's severity and said he would have continued playing if it was a playoff game, according to Aaron J. Fentress of The Oregonian.
Lillard tallied 22 points on 6-of-13 shooting (4-of-11 from distance) in just over 26 minutes Wednesday before bowing out. The six-time All-Star is averaging a career-best 31 points through five games this season.
