LeBron's 2013 NBA Finals jersey up for auction, could fetch over $3M
A valuable piece of LeBron James memorabilia will be up for grabs at auction in the new year.
The No. 6 Miami Heat jersey worn by James in Game 7 of the 2013 NBA Finals is being auctioned off as part of Sotheby's The One sale, with bidding opening Jan. 27. The jersey is estimated to sell for between $3 million and $5 million.
Sotheby's officials told TMZ Sports the item is "the most valuable LeBron James jersey to ever be offered at auction and among the most valuable jerseys of all time."
James and the Heat defeated the San Antonio Spurs 95-88 in Game 7 of the 2013 Finals to capture their second consecutive NBA title. James finished the game with 37 points and 12 rebounds.
The current record for most expensive game-worn sports memorabilia belongs to Michael Jordan's jersey from Game 1 of the 1998 NBA Finals, which sold for $10.1 million at Sotheby's in September. That jersey also had a presale estimate of $3 million-$5 million.
