Report: Jackson plans to sign with Nuggets after Hornets buyout
Point guard Reggie Jackson is finalizing a contract buyout with the Charlotte Hornets and plans to sign with the Denver Nuggets after he clears waivers, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.
The Hornets acquired the veteran guard Thursday in a deal that sent Mason Plumlee to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Denver has a vacancy at point guard after trading second-year guard Bones Hyland to Los Angeles for a second-round pick in 2024 and 2025.
Jackson, 32, averaged 10.9 points, 3.5 assists, and 2.2 rebounds for the Clippers this season. L.A. started the veteran guard early in the campaign but benched him for Terance Mann in January.
Denver is the first seed in the Western Conference with a 39-18 record. The Nuggets face off against the Miami Heat on Monday.
