Suns' Booker, Ayton left speechless over KD acquisition
The arrival of Kevin Durant still hasn't sunk in for some Phoenix Suns players.
"You can't put it into words, man," Devin Booker said Tuesday after the Suns' shootaround, according to Nick Friedell of ESPN. "It's just all feeling. Looking forward to post-All-Star break when we actually get the chance to compete with each other. I've never gotten to do that besides the Olympics with Kev, so it's exciting times around here."
DeAndre Ayton was also at a loss for words when asked how excited he is to play with Durant.
"That's the question I'm trying to answer my damn self. I'm really speechless, to be honest," Ayton said following the Suns' 120-109 win over the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday, per the Arizona Republic's Duane Rankin. "We got KD. Ain't that something."
Durant was in the building for the Suns-Kings game but remains sidelined due to a sprained MCL he suffered on Jan. 8.
The Suns improved to 32-27 on the season with Tuesday's victory and have now won five of their last six games. They'll face the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday in their last matchup before the All-Star break.
