All-NBA teams unveiled: Embiid beats out Jokic for 1st-team spot
The All-NBA teams for the 2022-23 season were announced during Wednesday's TNT broadcast.
Recently crowned MVP Joel Embiid nabbed a first-team selection at the center spot, relegating Nikola Jokic to the second unit. Jokic earned a first-team nod and the MVP title in each of the previous two seasons.
This is the final year the league will opt for position-based All-NBA teams.

Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded his fifth straight appearance on the top unit, with Jayson Tatum joining him as a first-team forward for the second consecutive year.
Guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander jumped straight to the top unit in his All-NBA debut. Gilgeous-Alexander averaged a career-high 31.4 points for the Oklahoma City Thunder this season, the fourth-best mark in the league. He also finished second in voting for the Most Improved Player award.

Jaylen Brown's first appearance has major implications for the Boston Celtics' future. Brown is now super-max eligible, meaning the Celtics can offer him a five-year, $295-million extension this offseason, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks.

LeBron James' 19th All-NBA appearance adds to his record number. No other player has garnered more than 15 All-NBA selections.
A panel of 100 sportswriters and broadcasters voted on the All-NBA teams.
