Randle after Heat outrebound Knicks in Game 4: 'Maybe they want it more'
New York Knicks star Julius Randle shared his thoughts on the team's rebounding struggles against the Miami Heat in Game 4 after New York went down 3-1 in the series following Monday's loss.
"Maybe they want it more," Randle said postgame, per SNY. "I don't know. That's been who we are all year, and we got to find a way to step up and make those plays, keep the season alive."
The Knicks dominated the Cleveland Cavaliers on the glass in Round 1. When asked how to improve in that area in this series, Randle had a simple answer.
"Look within, and how bad do you want it?" Randle said.
During the team's 109-101 loss to the Heat in Game 4, the Knicks lost the rebounding battle 44-35, while Miami brought down seven offensive boards during the fourth quarter. However, over the course of the series, New York is outrebounding Miami 181-167.
In the Knicks' first-round series victory over the Cavs, New York controlled the rebounding advantage, recording 227 over five games compared to the Cavs' 186.
Guard Jalen Brunson shared Randle's sentiments, saying "everything" needs to change for the Knicks to avoid losing the series.
"We need to be better. I need to be better," Brunson said.
The Heat can eliminate the Knicks from the playoffs on Wednesday. It would be Miami's third Eastern Conference finals appearance over the last four seasons.
