Report: Celtics' Brogdon playing through arm injury
Boston Celtics guard Malcolm Brogdon has been playing through a partial tear in the tendon coming out of his right elbow that leads into his forearm, sources told Jared Weiss of The Athletic.
The veteran guard played eight minutes during Thursday's 110-97 win over the Miami Heat before being labeled doubtful to return with right elbow soreness. He did not score any points, missing two 3-point attempts.
Brogdon suffered the injury in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals, though he also dealt with elbow soreness in the second round, Weiss reports.
Brogdon has struggled against the Heat, shooting just 1-of-10 from beyond the arc over three contests since the ailment. He's totaled two points over the last three games.
The 30-year-old intends to continue playing through the injury as the Celtics attempt to become the first NBA team to rally from an 0-3 series deficit. He'll evaluate whether or not he needs surgery after the season, according to Weiss.
Brogdon has been a key rotation player for the Celtics, earning Sixth Man of the Year honors after averaging 14.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists. He shot a career-high 44.4% from beyond the arc, the fourth-best mark in the league.
