Report: Hawks acquire Patty Mills from Thunder
The Atlanta Hawks are trading guard TyTy Washington, forwards Usman Garuba and Rudy Gay, and a second-round pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder for veteran guard Patty Mills, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Atlanta saves $4.5 million in the trade.
Mills started the offseason with the Brooklyn Nets but has now been traded three times over the last 10 days, moving to the Houston Rockets then to the Thunder and now to the Hawks.
The veteran guard averaged 6.2 points, 1.4 assists, and 1.1 rebounds in 40 games for the Nets last season. He shot 36.6% from deep, making 1.2 threes per contest.
Garuba was drafted 23rd overall in 2021. The 6-foot-8 forward averaged three points and 4.1 rebounds in 75 games for the Rockets last season. Washington averaged 4.7 points, 1.5 assists, and 1.5 rebounds as a rookie in 2022-23.
The Hawks have made two major moves this offseason, trading John Collins to the Utah Jazz for Gay and a second-round pick, and extending Dejounte Murray to a four-year, $120-million contract.
