Steph aims to play as long as LeBron has: 'Somewhere in that range'

Stephen Curry is hoping to emulate LeBron James when it comes to longevity.

The Golden State Warriors star spoke about his future on a recent episode of Gilbert Arenas' podcast - specifically, whether he envisions himself playing as long as the 39-year-old James, who's returning for his 21st NBA season.

"It's somewhere in that range," Curry said. "I never imagined myself being the 40-plus dude trying to hold on for dear life, but who knows what my body will look like or feel like at that point. I got three years left on my deal, including this year, so at least that, and then kind of figure it out from there."

Curry, who's entering his 15th season, also reiterated his desire to remain with the Warriors.

"I am blessed to know, and hope that no matter how many years I do play, that playing for one franchise and being a part of that group of the legends that have accomplished that feat and won at the highest level and all that," he said. "I don't ever take that for granted, either, 'cause you got the Kobe (Bryant)s, the Magic (Johnson)s, Dirk (Nowitzki), Tim Duncan - those guys helped establish a culture, won, did it with a lot of different roster combinations and different parts in their career, so that's dope."

Curry's current contract runs through the 2025-26 season, at which point he'll be 38 years old.
