The Golden State Warriors are signing 17-year NBA veteran Rudy Gay to a one-year deal, his agent told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski on Wednesday.

The 37-year-old will join the team in hopes of filling the final open roster spot with a strong training camp.

The 6-foot-8 forward has played 1,120 career games split between the Memphis Grizzlies, Toronto Raptors, Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs, and Utah Jazz. He was drafted with the No. 8 pick in 2006 out of UConn.

Gay has never been an All-Star, but he's averaged at least 18 points per game in nine different seasons. In recent campaigns, he's settled into a smaller role off the bench.

The Warriors already have a veteran group, with an established core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green that was accentuated by the addition 38-year-old Chris Paul this offseason.
