Denver Nuggets forward/center Zeke Nnaji agreed to a four-year, $32-million contract extension with the franchise, his representation told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The deal contains a player option for the final season.

Denver drafted Nnaji with the No. 22 pick in the 2020 draft. He spent one year at Arizona.

Over the preseason, Nnaji averaged 9.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 19.1 minutes per game.

The 22-year-old has averaged five points and 2.6 rebounds over 136 games in three seasons with the Nuggets. Nnaji hasn't carved out a consistent role with Denver but is slated for a bigger job after Jeff Green signed with the Houston Rockets in the offseason.

The defending champion Nuggets open their season at home Tuesday against the Los Angeles Lakers.
