The Washington Wizards and forward Deni Avdija agreed to a four-year, $55-million contract extension, his agents told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Avdija's extension is fully guaranteed, Wojnarowski adds.

The Wizards drafted the 6-foot-9 forward with the No. 9 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. Over three seasons, Avdija holds career averages of 8.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.1 assists. He averaged highs in points (9.2), rebounds (6.4), and assists (2.8) last campaign.

Avdija is in line for a bigger role with Washington after the franchise traded Bradley Beal and Kristaps Porzingis in the offseason.

The Wizards open their season Wednesday on the road against the Indiana Pacers.
