Report: Murray likely to miss 3-4 weeks with hamstring strain
The Denver Nuggets are taking a cautious approach with Jamal Murray's hamstring injury with an expectation that it will require three-to-four weeks of recovery, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Nuggets head coach Michael Malone announced Monday that Murray is out for "the perceivable future" due to the injury, according to ESPN.
The 26-year-old suffered the injury against the Chicago Bulls on Saturday after playing nine minutes. Veteran Reggie Jackson played 25 minutes in the win, while Collin Gillespie appeared in a reserve role.
Murray is averaging 16.3 points, 7.4 assists, and 2.6 rebounds this season. The Canadian guard played an integral role in Denver's first championship win last season, averaging 26.1 points, 7.1 assists, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.5 steals.
Murray missed all of the 2021-22 campaign due to an ACL injury that he suffered in April 2021.
